The directorate of human rights and related matters of Revive Africa Initiative having watched with broken hearts, the video on circulation of how a former aide to the governor who was the special Adviser to the Governor on Security until yesterday when his sack was ordered by the governor for dehumanizing and molesting a woman on camera, we wishes to call for the Nigerian Police to charge him to court immediately.
Friday Eluro from Ika in Delta state allegedly sent his thugs to apprehend a middle aged woman, strippped her naked in public, tied her up like an animal and had his boys beat him mercilessly for allegedly insulting him and the whole event was captured on video record and made viral on the internet.
This act constitutes a serious violence against women, abuse of her fundamental human right, attempt to murder on her, malicious damage, jungle justice, dehumanization, an act capable to incite the public, breach of public peace and serious defamation of character.
It is on this note that the Revive Africa Initiative is calling on the Nigerian Police to expediate arrest of all the culprits involved in this heneous act, spead up investigations on the matter and charge Friday Eluro to court before Wednesday 13th February, 2019.
Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere and justice delayed is justice denied, we can not fold our hands and watch perpetuators of this act go scott free, such babarians that has no respect for the dignity and sanctity for womanhood and life itself do not deserve a place among the people.
We will not hesitate to explore every legal option to coarce the Police to chage Friday Eluro to court and be prosecuted for his crimes against humanity.
We are also calling on the US embassy, UK embassy, Canada, and all international embassies to deny Friday Eluro Visa to travel to any country outside Nigeria as he has lost the moral justification to live among human beings.
As long as Friday Eluro is allowed to walk free, he constitutes a serious threat to humanity.
It is on this note that we call on all rigth groups, civil society organizations, pro-women and gender based organizations and foundations, all men of goodwill and the entire Delta state people to be at alert and get set for a show down on thursday 14th February, 2019 to show love to all women around the world and solidarity to the abused woman.
All forms of violence against women across Africa has to be made to stop, women have rights and deserves to be protected
