Prof M.B Shittu, a Professor of community development and Innovation, a Former Vice President of International Association for Community Development and currently the Regional director(Sub Saharan Region) of IACD has been nominated as a member of the Board of trustees of Revive Africa Initiative.
This nomination was made during a courtesy visit by delegates of the Initiative led by the Director General Amb. Comr. Ugagaoghene ogheneyole N. to Prof. Shittu's office on Tuesday the 22nd of January 2019.
Speaking during the visit, Amb. Ugagaoghene ogheneyole N. Mentained that Professor Shittu's track records in community development drive across Africa and his experience as a Professor in community development formed the yardstick for his nomination. Going forward, he commended Prof. M.B Shittu for for his significant works in human capital development, peace building, girl child education and education advancement in Kano state.
In the same vain, he used the medium to invite him to the flag-off of the "Educate the African child campaign" being organization by the Revive Africa Initiative at farawa Primary school kano, where the Initiative will be giving full scholarships and schooling materials which included uniforms, school bags and books to one hundered and five (105) out-of-School children.
While addressing the delegates from Revive Africa Initiative, Prof. M.B. Shittu commended the team for their impact in the pursuit of Africa's Revival through the initiative while admonishing them to remain focused and consistent as patience is a key factor in community development.
Prof. Shittu accepted the role as member of the board of trustees of Revive Africa Initiative and Pledge to contribute his quota.
The high point of the event was the invitation of team Revive Africa Initiative to the 2019 International Association for Community Development comference billed to hold in Dundee, Scotland by june this year.
